I came to Mosaic at a particularly bleak point of my life, at a time when I couldn't see a place for me in Church. I found ordinary good-hearted and good-humoured people who accepted me. I found a safe space to discuss the depths of faith and doubt. Now I am honoured to be part of the leadership (elder) team, hopefully helping and equipping others to be who they truly are in God.

I’ve been part of Mosaic since 2003, became one of the pastors in 2007, and in early 2013, took the helm as head pastor of our community. It’s been great to participate in the process of Mosaic becoming who and what it is during that time.
For me, one of Mosaic’s fundamental strengths is that it’s an honest, raw, stripped-down version of what the Church can be; a safe place to explore what a new kind of Christian faith looks like in the new, ever-changing world we find ourselves in. We’re not hindered by ambition, church-growth strategies, demographics or long-range goals.
Mosaic is a place where people gather to celebrate, to belong, to discuss, to discover, and to connect... not because we have to... because we want to!
What are we celebrating? What are we discussing? What do we care about? Teaching, living, and loving the way that Jesus did. That’s pretty much it.
That’s what I’m trying to do in my family life, with my wife, Jasheen, and my two daughters, Gabrielle & Isabelle. It’s what I’m trying to do in my social life, at the pub, in the gym, in our neighbourhood, and in our home. It’s what I’m trying to do in my spiritual life through prayer, reading the Bible, serving, and in authentic relationships. It’s what I’m trying to do in my church, through gathering, praying, singing, eating, laughing, crying, exploring, and celebrating!
I am part of the Mosaic.

Paul, Lorna & Jamie
Paul, Lorna & Jamie
We are Paul, Lorna and Jamie, and we've been coming along to Mosaic for nearly 2 years. Me and Lorna have both been Church-goers since we were young, but a few years ago, just before Jamie was born, we began to ask the question 'what kind of church do we want to bring our child into'? and we realised that we were searching for something different; something more authentic, creative, loving, down-to-earth and unshowy than the church experiences we had had - something that reflected the real Jesus we had come to believe in. We liked what we had heard about Mosaic, that it was a community attempting to strip away the excesses of contemporary church and build something simple and real; respecting ancient tradition while never shying away from trying something new. When we came along that's just what we found it to be, and now we feel very much at home.

In 2010 and we got married and moved to Glasgow and were attracted by Mosaic's familyish-ness and diversity. We hung around, got stuck in and have grown to love its openness and to tolerate its chaos.
He reads, knits, thinks about the Eucharist, gets distracted on Wikipedia and hopes one day to live in the woods. She crochets, sews, laughs a lot and hopes to one day become proficient with a bow and arrow.

I'm come from Germany, Mornshausen. I came to study theology at the International Christian College and Glasgow University. Mosaic became my community, through good and bad. A place where I explored the loss of my faith and eventually finding it again. These are my people.
